Experiences of snail mail to Cuba? (from Australia?)?

I thought I'd just risk it, but I think I have to accept that the CDs I sent over (in two separate packages in separate weeks) are probably not going to make it (which is unfortunate, since one had a home movie on it .. boooring for the person who ends up with it).

But what about normal letters?

Anyone have any positive accounts of snail mail? How long did it take?

I'm not from Australia but the postal service can be average or it can be very slow to Cuba.

How did you send your packages? The best thing you can do is to send things via DHL...most reliable to send to Cuba. Maybe next time you could do that. There is a tracking number and everything. You'll know when it arrives for sure and that it arrived safely and correctly.

I'm sorry your packages might be lost or very delayed.
