Can someone please help me?! I have just moved to a new apt actually it a duplex and stuff has been happening here like things moving across my stovetop in my kitchen and the smell of smoke in my bathroom when no one smokes in my home. We constantly hear what sounds like furniture moving up stairs in our bedroom, and also a child crying or should I say sobbing is more like it. our hanging lights swing by themselves and doors slam shut up stairs when no windows are open. What is even stranger is that this happens even when friends are over and when my husband is here too so other people have witnessed these things. The activity happens early morning starting at 6am till noon. This is not my first paranormal experience this stuff has happened since I was 12 and once in a while I'll see a ghost spirit and it scares me out of skin! Why does this keep happening to me and what do these spirits want??? or is it me uncosiously doing this? please help I'm desperate!!

  1. Nothing is wrong with your apt or you.  Spirits don't pay you visits! Come on! I am sure it can be logically explained. Are there any babies in the whole building? Is there a chance you have air flow in your apt from an not so obvious opening? That could also explain the smoke you smell in the bathroom. It's coming from another apt near!

And I do have to mention that I have heard of sabotage acts from ppl who wait to be contacted and begged to take the "spirits" away. Don't fall for anything like that. Small children live such incidents because of their lively imagination.

So, try to look for real reasons and stop making such thoughts!

  2. Ghost will not harm you. Just talk to them explainign that you live there now and you would like some privacy.

  3. Look for causes of drafts. Check out the people living in the other half of the duplex and what noises they make.

Real events have real causes. You clearly have interpretive bias, so you should concentrate on real things, rather than clutter up your mind with poppycock about ghosts.

  4. First you need to look for any natural explanations to the things that are happening. For example, the child you hear could be coming from the other side of the duplex.

If you find no natural explanations then listen to Dallas6f....ask it to leave. That's been known to work.

  5. I'm glad you made note that you've moved into a duplex.  This is key because if you share a wall with your neighbors then you're also sharing a floor.  So if your neighbor walks on the second floor, then it's possible this will make your first floor ceiling fixtures sway.  If your units are mirrored in the floor plan, then you smell smoke in your bathroom because your neighbor is smoking in his.  I bet you'll notice nothing when your neighbor is gone for the day.

So, if you explore some more and you find out all of this ghosty evidence is caused by your neighbors, are you still going to think your place is haunted?

  6. Hi! First off, breathe! It does sound like you have something going on in your home. I would contact your local paranormal investigation group. I will be more then happy to talk to you to try to find a credible group. Until then I would make a data log and log any events that happen ie...date, time, what happened, what was going on at the time, who was present.

Also, you shouldn't be afraid of the spirits. Sometimes if you talk out loud to them they will calm down. It could also be a residual haunting (an event that just keeps repeating over and over and over again)

  7. It could be a residual imprint. Google paranormal residual imprint. Or...spirits might be following you. Get a professional to help you. They've probably always been around you..but you just couldn't see them. Pretend like you don't see them. Don't encourage them. Don't show fear. I'm sure lots of people on here will tell you other things to do. Good Luck!

  8. Most of the events most likely could be explained.  1. it could be the apt next to yours,,walls tend to be thin and sound travels.  2. if you are freaked out, it could be your imagination playing tricks on you.

Calm down and look at it logically and see if it could be explained.  If it is a mischievous spirit, it sounds harmless.  If you feel better, when you experience something; "ask it to stop and to go away that they are not welcome here.  it's your house."   Hope that helps..If I can help let me know.

  9. First of all you can be sensitive soul that brings paranormal

activity to you. Plus the apartment your in had a family that lost it child and the mother searches for it child. old history its land not home that its haunted. well me and my husband bless houses and dwellings im a spiritual adviser and he talks to the dead and the passing... God bless you with a gift

of knowing the otherside they just need your help to go on...

  10. Got get some counseling.  They will give you some pills that will suppress it, and when it stops while your on the pills, then you will know for a fact its all in your head.

  11. Apparently you're not the only one experiencing or witnessing these occurrences in your home, so it isn't only happening to you and you're obviously are not hallucinating.

When I was a child I had what I once believed to be paranormal experiences (sight and hearing), no moving objects involved. I saw people walking and floating around the house. I playfully tried to kick one of them, but my foot went through the person. I considered the ones that didn't talk as my friends. But the ones that did talk to me scared me and I ran from them. All of this occurred during bedtime hours and I was the only one awake witnessing these things. My recollection is that it happened to me for about a few years, then it stopped. I miss those experiences and wish that they still occurred, because as an adult, I now question whether those experiences were actually real. I want to know, to substantiate that there is life after death.

Since you are still experiencing these things, you are in a unique position to explore these occurrences and conduct some research. You could provide some useful data to millions of curious and skeptical people. Don't fear these experiences, embrace them.

    I envy you.

  12. It's all in your mind.  You should seek pyschological counseling.
