Expert Jamie comes first in Grade A4 500m race at Sheffield
Starting as a favourite hound with the starting price of 6 to 4, Expert Jamie clinched top spot in the Grade A4 race of 500m category at Sheffield on, January 19. The other five hounds of the event included Fighter Jack, Cu Na Ri, Barnside Bob, Rockchase
Merv and Katies Her Name.
Expert Jamie broke from trap 1, and straight away demonstrated immense aggression and sheer pace, as the black b***h went quickly away.
After taking the lead, she had to apply utmost strength and stamina till the last moment, as Fighter Jack was awfully persistent on challenging her.
Running constantly and rigorously, the daughter of Expert Flash managed to complete the distance in 30.08 seconds with a reasonable margin of 2 ¼ lengths.
It was the first time she finished on top in all her career starts, which started on October 10, 2011. This breakthrough came after a dozen of consecutive failures.
Expert Jamie’s victory was a source of relief for her trainer, A Mckenna, who seemed to be much excited last night. This success supplemented his joy after the triumph of his another trainee in a Grade A3 event.
By bagging her first ever conquest, the b***h has a strong case of establishing herself as the favourite runner for the upcoming races. She is expected to have a bright future provided she sustains her newly-gained momentum.
Fighter Jack finished second for the 6th time since his debut in June, 2011. The black dog broke from trap 2, exhibited a good and smooth run from gate to wire, and finally reached the finish line in 30.26 seconds. He trailed
the winner by 2 ¼ lengths.
The son of Goldmine Ramble tried to outstrip Expert Jamie but failed. Overall, his running was quite amazing and flawless. Whelped in December 2009, the dog is trained by T Bedford.
The third top finisher was Cu Na Ri, who consumed 30.46 seconds to reach the destination after breaking from trap 4. The dog lagged by 2 ½ lengths.

His trainer, M A P O’donnell, was satisfied with his fighting spirit, but wanted him to finish first in the future races.
During the post-race prize distribution ceremony, Expert Jamie, earned £86 while each of the other five greyhounds bagged £28.
