Experts believe Colorado Rockies need to work on their pitching ahead of next season
National League West franchise, the Colorado Rockies are making some news in this offseason for their recent preparations ahead of next Major League Baseball season.
However, recently some sources have also speculated in the media that the Rockies are not putting extra responsibility on their potential pitchers instead giving more attention to every hitter in their roster.
Experts say, this reverse priority could harm the Rockies in the near future when they will be competing against the giants of National League including the Philadelphia Phillies, Atlanta Braves, Washington Nationals, New York Mets, Florida Marlins, Milwaukee
Brewers, St. Louis Cardinals, Cincinnati Reds, Pittsburgh, Chicago Cubs, Houston Astros, Arizona Diamondbacks, San Francisco Giants, Los Angeles Dodgers and San Diego Padres, they have to go fully prepared with best pitching line-up.
Having good pitchers in a certain roster is always authenticates any team’s winning factors while this vital importance of pitchers also recognises by Rockies first baseman Jason Giambi.
He recently commented on his club’s preparations for the next season stating,
“We need some guys to step up, It' s not like it used to be where the National League West was considered easy. The D-backs got a lot better, and San Francisco with their pitching, they will always be tough. We have to get back to where we were in 2009 and
most of 2010. We need to pitch, and we need to execute. The one thing about having a year like we did is that it made guys hungry because they realize they have to get better.”
Experts also believe that if the Rockies management did not take any initiative towards improving their current pitching roster, the results would be more demeaning than last season.
Last season, the Rockies finished just above the Padres in the NL West going with 73-89 win loss record along-with .451 winning percentage, 38-43 home record and 35-46 on the road.
These stats are relatively very humiliating for any good team who has always put-up a fighting spirit before losing in the end but consistently playing at that level would damage the franchise in long run.
