Experts believe catcher Nick Hundley will play a key role in San Diego Padres win
News is coming regarding San Diego Padres’ talented catcher Nick Hundley as he will be playing a key role for his team in this year’s ongoing Major League Baseball season. The Padres are currently suffering some huge losses however; the team management is feeling confident and stating in the media that everything will be okay when the season gets warmer.
In the meanwhile, coming onto the subject of Padres catcher as some of the experts have published stories on different capacities regarding several aspects of Hundley’s game, is also interesting. Hundley, who came into the Padres franchise in 2008, is quite well settled now and performing consistently.
His behind the plate record is exceptional as well as his career batting stats which stands consistent at .252 along with 30 homers, 127 RBIs and 127 OBP.
Earlier some two to three months ago in the offseason, some reporters interviewed Hundley in which he spoke about his somewhat growth as a player.
Hundley said, “I think it was my upbringing, Moving around a lot, having a lot of different life experiences with my family, living in different places, meeting new people all the time, I think that’s set me up for this position. You dealing with so many different guys, you need to figure out what makes each guy tick, and you have to do it on a rather quick basis.”
Andrew Cashner, who is a new reliever in the Padres franchise and building his game with catcher Hundley, also is a great admirer of his behind the plate catching.
Hundley has also commented in the media and during that particular interview talked about Cashner. Hundley said, “Andrew and I have only been around each other only a few weeks, I need to get to know – all the pitchers – in a short time to get the most out of them.”
