Experts pose questions on Arizona Diamondbacks’ Spring Training performance – MLB News
The Arizona Diamondbacks were going in right direction in this year’s Spring Training programme, but lately some heavy losses have placed them in a slight narrow corner where every critic is criticising their lack of interest in the game.
In 14 Cactus League games in Arizona, the Diamondbacks have won only four. For some this Spring Training is just a warm up session for all the professional players, but for some and especially who are not directly related to the game, this is more than just
a warm up outing instead they think that every title contending team must win their Spring Training games in order to prove their brilliance.
Winning only four games is now the biggest criticism the Diamondbacks’ are facing. Many in the baseball analysis’ business are giving hard time to Arizona’s baseball franchise. They think that Diamondbacks must take interest in the game even if they are
playing not some serious competition.
Later left-hander Joe Saunders recently came out in the media and told the reporters about the criticism his team is receiving. He said with confidence explaining, "It matters, but it doesn't really matter, If the stats don't go on the back of your baseball
card, guys are more worried about what happens during the regular season. If you're having a bad spring and you're working on stuff, you've got to throw that out the window."
The Diamondbacks’ manager Kirk Gibson has also his say on the matter as he said, “I went through this last year. I'm not going to lie. We'd like to win more games. I can't really explain why we don't play better at this point. I do have confidence that we'll
play well when it counts. I'm not going to get frustrated with it.”
According to Gibson, as he further added that the Diamondbacks will conceal the bad periods in the coming season. Still there are plenty of games remaining in the Spring Training and Gibson’s team has also the right level of capacity to make a drastic comeback
next season leaving all the criticism behind towards a new beginning.
