Experts raise questions on Paul Goldschmidt’s ability to provide stability at first base – MLB News
Named 2011 Minor League Player of the year by USA Today, Paul Goldschmidt is now somewhat confirmed by the Arizona Diamondbacks top management that he will certainly start the season at first base with the senior team in Arizona despite having less experience
in the Major League.
The Diamondbacks have announced earlier that he will be playing from this season onwards in the Major League as he has now gained enough experience in the Minor League since coming into the Arizona’s baseball franchise in 2009.
While as soon as this news came out in the media, the reporters rushed towards the Diamondbacks management and started asking questions that how he will prove valuable for the franchise.
Though Goldschmidt has played in 2011 season, but still he needs to cover many shortcomings on consistent bases. The argument of his productivity has many perspectives to discuss, but the only issue that might occur in the coming season is his rawness in
big League.
On all these media talks, speculations and abjections on Goldschmidt’s potential level of performance especially at first base in the coming season, he himself has issued a statement which states,
“To succeed in this game you have to be confident, and I have confidence I can be that guy, I realize the failures in the short time I've been here, but that's part of the thing that drives you. I know how tough it is to play this game, and whether you've
been here two months and two years or 10 years, you're going to go through struggles. My whole thing is to just try and learn the game from all the guys around me and from the coaching staff, which I think has over 100 years of playing experience.”
In the meanwhile and on contrary to his performance level at first base next season, some experts also believe that Goldschmidt is a talented player and given right circumstances along with opportunities, he will play a vital role for the Diamondbacks. Currently
he is playing and practicing hard in the Spring Training and hoping another good beginning for his future.
