Experts say San Diego Padres’ ‘farm system’ is getting better – MLB News

The San Diego Padres are looking in great shape to compete well in the next season. Not only the club is preparing very hard, but also their farm system minor league has huge potential to carry forward the club’s burden with full confidence.
Recently, some baseball experts have mentioned in the media about Padres’ potential in their farm system and how they can benefit themselves from their minor league affiliates.
According to those experts, the Padres prospects for 2012 are Rymer Liriano along with Yonder Alonso, Yasmani Grandal, Anthony Rizzo, Joe Wieland, Jedd Gyorko, Casey Kelly, Robbie Erlin, Austin Hedges, Cory Spangenberg, Joe Ross, Brad Boxberger, Keyvius
Sampson, James Darnell, Jaff Decker, Juan Pablo Oramas, Jace Peterson, Edinson Rincon, Miles Mikolas and Adys Portillo.
Previously, it was believed that Padres have only two or three prospects in the minor league but lately it was revealed that approximately 10 to 20 Padres’ players are preparing to enter in their Major League team.
The Padres general manager, Josh Byrnes has also described their farm system in San Diego and how it is producing good MLB players. He said, “We’ve added a lot of quality.”
Later, he also explained that after hard work of several years they now have abundance of talent to choose from. According to some other researchers of Padres’ farm system who have deeply observed the changes in their minor league players and prospects from
last two decades, the number of present players is more than enough for the Padres to come up with good results.
The main rivals of Padres are in the National league including the San Francisco Giants, Arizona Diamondbacks, Los Angeles Dodgers, Philadelphia Phillies, Atlanta Braves, Washington Nationals, New York Mets, Florida Marlins, Milwaukee Brewers, St. Louis
Cardinals, Cincinnati Reds, Pittsburgh Pirates, Chicago Cubs, Houston Astros and Colorado Rockies.
Though, the Padres will be playing against these teams in the 2012 regular season, if they succeed to qualify for the postseason they will also be playing against American League teams. It will be an interesting encounter if the Padres play against AL teams,
who are considered more offensive squads in the entire Major League.
