  1. By land or water Canadian citizens will not require a passport to enter the United States at land and marine ports of entry until June 1, 2009.

    However, as of January 31, 2008, if you travel to the United States by land or water, a United States law will require you to present:

    • a government-issued photo ID, such as a driver's licence

    AND a birth certificate or a citizenship card;

    OR

    • for persons aged 18 and under, a birth certificate or a citizenship card only;

    OR

    • a valid passport.

  2. Until June 2009, you can enter the USA with your birth certificate and photo ID.  You only need a passport if you're flying into the States.  In June 2009, you'll need a passport regardless of your method of travel.

  3. If you are driving your government issued photo ID such as your driver's license and your birth certificate will be sufficient.

  4. yes you can but why the US stay in Canada it is nicer

  5. In order for a passport to be accepted it has to be valid so no, you cannot use an expired Canadian Passport to enter the US.  They will check your ID at the border and scan your passport.  Since it is expired that would be indicated on the scanner and you would be refused entrance to the US.  You may also find yourself spending time as their guest depending on the person who scans your passport.  They may ask for alternative ID but that is at their discretion.

    That being said, you do not require a passport to enter the US.  All that is required is a valid government issued photo ID such as your driver's license (to prove identity) AND an official birth certificate (to prove citizenship).  By official they mean one issued by the provincial government (or an agency designated by them) of the province you were born in.  A passport is not necessary if you are driving until at least June 1, 2009.

  6. no, if they check you can not get into the U.S. with an expired Canadian Passport

  7. No.  You now need a valid passport to enter the states whether you are flying or driving.

  8. No, so please stay in Canada!! We don't want you here in the US anyway.
