Expired Indiana License Plate

Question

What are you supposed to do with a license plate that you are no longer using. Can you throw it away or are you supposed to return it to the state?

I wouldn't throw it away. either keep it or turn it back in to the tag agency, you wouldn't want someone else to be able to use it.
