Expired border crossing..?

my passport is expired by only a month, is there anyway i can still cross the border from canada to us, we are travelling by car..

If you are either an American or Canadian citizen, you do NOT need a passport to cross the border by LAND. That requirement will not be enforced until probably summer of 2009.  You do need a photo I.D. and your certified birth certificate.  see site below for current info.
