  1. no...h**l no....look a license plate is just a tax sticker----tell the judge that you have paid for the back time that you did not have a plate....and that after you paid all of your back tax and tax for this year...you can not afford to pay a fine..ask him if he can understand why..you forgot or whatever...tell him the truth...never lie to a judge...good luck!

  2. It is always worth pleading not guilty and try to make a deal with the city/village attorney.

  3. Thats what I did.  It worked.

  4. you can try

it will help that you corrected the problem

  5. Depends on the judge and the court.  If you are found guilty, most courts will set up a payment plan that you can follow.

  6. It depends on a lot of things; some states are more strict with traffic tickets than others.

-If you haven't had any moving violations in the past two years

-If you are a college student or single parent (in my experience if you say you are a student with a lot of expenses they reduce the fine)

Usually when you go to court they will reduce the fine, especially since its just expired plates.

  7. Nope.  a fine is a fine, and you are guilty of that infraction and the ticket is valid.  He might offer a payment plan, but if you take up the courts time, he is going to add court costs as well.

  8. If the plates are renewed immediately, the Judge may consider this compliance, and dismiss the charge.  A lot will depend on how long the plates were expired.  Stating that you can not afford the fine is not a defense.  You will just be given a payment option.

  9. Usually, they will reduce it, but they have some options available to them.  They can let you provide community service, they can put you on a payment plan, probably more  But, I would expect to pay some of the ticket.
