when ever it says, in a milk or yogurt,it says about a expirty date...does it expire exactly on the specif date.....or can it survive a week or so after that

i have used milk even after a week its expired never had issues but some times it gets rotten within 2 days of the expirty date......so is it safe to use it even 1 day after the expiry

  1. it depends on the quality of the milk/yogurt and it also depends where the milk/yogurt will be placed, milk/yogurt should be placed in a cool dry place...if it's the cheap type, maybe it would even probably expire a lot earlier, but if it's the high-quality type, it would probably be still safe to drink it even after a week of time...

  2. yes, actually even after milk has soured if you were to consume it it would not hurt you, just taste bad, lol

  3. I have used dairy products that are past their used by date, especialy if they have not been out of the fridge and are unopened.  I think with dairy products it's fairly obvious when they are off.  I wouldn't go as far as drinking or using week old milk though.  Yoghurt I have used as much as 2 weeks past expired date, no probs.

  4. I think that it depends on the brand.  Milk can stay for about a week after the date.  I have eaten yogurt and used half & half a week after the experation date. They were Popular brands..Good quality.

  5. Because of the large quantities of bacteria in dairy products you should ALWAYS throw them out when it comes to the expiry date (or before if they smell off). You'll get a stomach upset for sure.
