Explain Deal or No Deal to me? Please!?

i completely do not understand it! it seems really stupid to me. i mean why can't the person choose their own box? i really don;t get the point of the game...would someone be kind enough to enlighten me on the purpose of this game? please?

If you knew what was in your own box there would be no need to decide whether to go on or take the offer would there. Lets face it, if you knew you had the £250,000 in your box you aint going to take an offer

The player does choose their own box.  They take a numbered ball out of a bag of all the numbers and the one they choose is the number of the box they have on the table.   The idea of the game is to get a player of your choice to open their box and hope to keep the largest sums of money (the red boxes) in the game as long as possible so that you have chance of winning a large sum of money. It is of course luck as to whether you choose  the right ones.

its a bit of a con actually...a friend of mine qualified to get on the show.he found that more than half of the contestants were actors with a fixed script that the others had to go along with

The point of the game is to select a briefcase to be opened last which contains an unknown value.  Then, the person starts opening the other briefcases, which again each contain an unknown value.   This gives the player an idea of what their own briefcase might be worth.

After certain numbers of briefcases are open, the banker will call and make the player an offer for their own briefcase.   This offer is usually somewhere in between the value of the briefcases that are unopened.   For example, if a player has a lot of low value cases left, the bank offer will be low.  If on the other hand, they have mostly high value briefcases left, the banks offer will be high.  A mix and it will be somewhere in the middle.   During the course of the game, the banks offers will go up or down depending on what is left.   With each offer, the player is asked "Deal or no Deal" and if they sell their case to the banker by saying "Deal", the game ends and the player is awarded the bankers offer.  If on the other hand, they say "No Deal" the player gets to open a certain number of cases more until the next bank offer or until their case is opened.  If it gets to their briefcase, the player is awarded the amount of their briefcase.

Essentially the game is a combination of chance and risk management.   If a player thinks their case is worth less than the banks offer, it is best to take the deal.  If they think it is worth more, then reject the offer.   The best strategy for the player is to try to open low value briefcases first, as this will increase the bankers offers.  The risk management element is the chance of rejecting an offer but get a lower offer the next time.

Ok so here goes

-Everyone gets a random box [so they don't know how much money is in their box]

-They pick random people to open their box and when they open their box whatever number that is in there gets wiped off of the prize board.

-When the person playing does a certain number of boxes based on the money they have [On the board] The banker makes them an offer, they can decline or accept the offer of money. [this happens throughout the game]

-When they get to one box and their box they open it and they get

whatever money is in their box to take home with them.

Right im not sure but i think theres lots of boxes the contestent trys to guess and pick out the ones with the blue numbers because there are low numbers and the red numbers are high, so the more blue u guess the higher the possibilty that you get a lot of money then someone called the bank dealer offers you money you can accept the deal or go no deal and by the end when theres 2 boxes left he picks one it goes to the table where the contestent is standin then its that box tht holds the number of money he gets to take away with him

I hate this show. I wish they would just let the contestant open thier own box right away and save us forty five minutes of absolute cringeworthy telly!!!
