Explain Linnaeu's contribution to modern taxonomy?

  1. Karl von Linne was a guy who loved to classify things. He came up with the organization we use today, from kingdom down thru class, order, family, and genus to species. The system has been refined (some would say complicated) since then but basically is as Linne (or Linnaeus) created it.
