  1. The main purpose is to sense the temperature in inside the duct or where ever it is located and send it to the guage or the instrument for reading and it works electrically...

This resistance change is detected by a controller that signals the hot & cold air valves to maintain a constant selected temperature in the cabin to counter any temperature changes in the outside air.
