Explain conceptually how genetic background influences behavior. Give specific examples from animal biology???

  1. This is quiet a difficult question mainly due to the fact that a lot of behavioral studies are debatable.  At the end of the day, genetics controls just about everything in out bodies, directly or indirectly.  Genes will somehow at the very least make us prone to having behavioral changes.  Genes will code for proteins and proteins run the every process in the body including emotion.  You will have to dwell into a few controversial topics to answer this question and don't look to finding a definitive answer.  The only animal example I can think of is of dogs.  Certain breeds of dogs have a certain "nature" for example a pit bull is a lot more viscous than a poodle.  This is obviously passed down to them from their parents.

    Hope you get some where with this.
