Explain how a structured approach relates to developing programs and why using an organized approach is import

when i have a project in mind, i sketch it several times, every time i see something i missed... i build relationship between parts, functions, ideas... and so on...

then i reorganize the material...

then i start coding...

i suppose this makes the coding and the aims clearer, makes it easier to produce less spaghettilike code... makes it closer to a good design... (whre it is easier to fix problems and expand, add and so on...)

but maybe the question was not about this... wasn't?
