There is a specific way that managers learn to manage and I am sure it is not from a book. Can someone explain in detail how managers learn to manage?

  1. What make you think they learn?  Most of the bosses I have had had major failings as managers.

  4. Management is all about upholding the company and its components as a whole. It is not something you can learn, but it does get easier and better with experience and practice.

  7. I found a pretty good book called "The Managers toolkit" It is a Harvard Business School Publication.  You definitely need to be goal oriented and concentrate on the goals rather than putting out fires all the time.
