  1. Mitosis: cell division where two identical daughter cells are produced, each with two complete copies of the nuclear genome (in the case of humans).

Meiosis: Cell division where 4 daughter cells are produced, each having one copy of the nuclear genome. During meiosis there are two divisions: the parent cell splits into two daughters and then each daughter cell divided again.

  2. In mitosis a cell divides to make an exact copy of itself. In Meiosis, a cell divides to make 4 gametes which have half the chromosome number of the parent cell.

  3. Mitosis- division of vegetative cells.

    Meiosis- division of s*x cells.

  4. Mitosis is the process by which a eukaryotic cell separates the chromosomes in its cell nucleus, into two identical sets in two daughter nuclei.[1] It is generally followed immediately by cytokinesis, which divides the nuclei, cytoplasm, organelles and cell membrane into two daughter cells containing roughly equal shares of these cellular components. Mitosis and cytokinesis together define the mitotic (M) phase of the cell cycle - the division of the mother cell into two daughter cells, genetically identical to each other and to their parent cell.

In biology or life science, meiosis (pronounced my-oh-sis) is a process of reduction division in which the number of chromosomes per cell is cut in half. In animals, meiosis always results in the formation of gametes. The word "meiosis" comes from the Greek verb meioun, meaning "to make small," since it results in a reduction in chromosome number in the gamete cell.

Meiosis is essential for sexual reproduction and therefore occurs in all eukaryotes (including single-celled organisms) that reproduce sexually. A few eukaryotes, notably the Bdelloid rotifers, have lost the ability to carry out meiosis and have acquired the ability to reproduce by parthenogenesis. Meiosis does not occur in archaea or bacteria, which reproduce via asexual processes such as mitosis or binary fission. Each cell has half the number of chromosomes as the parent cell.

  5. Mitosis is the progress of division of a cell,  which turns out to be one cell.

I'm not too sure of Meiosis,  though.  Use google/wikipedia.
