  1. Puck line Betting Explained

A puck line is the hockey version of a point spread. Puck lines are set at 1 1/2 points, meaning that the underdog is given 1 1/2, and the favorites lose 1 1/2. So, if the underdog wins outright, or loses by one goal, they beat the puck line. If they lose by 2 or more goals, they did not beat the puck line. The favorite would need to win by 2 or more goals to cover the puck line.
