  1. Long distance= endurance and (some) speed

    sprinter= explosive speed

  2. Sprinters don't do a whole lot of training with piling up many miles at all. 400M runners do a little bit of running longer distances, but not very much.

    Long distance runners normally train running between 40 and 100 miles per week.

    Lifting weights and doing push-ups is good for sprinters. Pumping your arms is supposed to increase the turnover from your legs. Therefore, the faster you can pump your arms, the faster you should be running. Long distance runners can benefit from this, as their arms need to survive the continuous pumping of the whole race, and most try and have a strong finish, sprinting if they can.

  3. A long distance runner is one who does just that, runs over long distances.  This type of runner needs to pace themselves, in order to not wear out before the end of the race.

    Oh the other hand, a sprinter is one who runs shorter races, and the need to win quick, therefore no pacing.

  4. long distace involes inderence and spriters involve quickness.

  5. A LONG DISTANCE RUNNERS ARE GOOD AT RUNNING SOMETHING LIKE 5KS OR UP. SPRINTERS ARE FASTER THAN LONG DISTANCE RUNNERS BUT CAN NOT LAST REALLY LONG

  6. well... Simple. Long distance runners always run a longer distance and sprinter need to go fast from the beginning till the end and they only usual run 110, 200,and 400m.

    Long distance runner are usually the ones to have the most strength and endurance while sprinters need to have a good start off, good form, and long strides...

  7. Wow, the differences between long distance running and sprinting.  Well for starters, sprinting uses more of the thighs then long distance runners do and ldr use more calf musles.  Both use their arms alot.  Sprinters need it in order to propel themselves forward, but they need them only for a short amount of time, but they use more power quicker.  Distance runners have the endurance of the arms and legs.  Distance runners' workouts may be better for you if you're looking for the upper body as well as the lower body, as it appears to be, because when training for 5k's and 10k's you do both long distance and sprint workouts.  three times a week you usually do 5 - 15 miles a day and the other three you sprint 10 - 15 200s  or something such as that.  So, I'd go with Distance running because it gives you more variety, but whatever works for you.
