  1. Wine brings joy. Way too much wine brings violent frenzy.

    Archilochus [680-645] an Iambic poet of Paros, was evidently a priest to Dionysus and led in singing dithyrambos. He speaks of singing while being "thunderstruck" by wine.

    In an ancient tale Dionysus was butchered as an infant (called Iacchus) and his parts scattered. Athena saved his heart and ultimately he was reassembled. This story is the key to the Mystery cult of Dionysus.
