  2. The Phoenician Alphabet. Developed in Phoenicia, an ancient civilization located in modern Lebanon, the alphabet was easily spread through the Mediterranean by way of sea traders. Phoenicia had little allowance for agriculture, and therefore established an entire civilization on sea trade, aiding in the diffusion of the basis of the language we use today.

    This was one of the most important things that came from Mesopotamia and the Cradle of Life.

    Life became easier because of the easy access to water and so people were able specialize in certain subjects, making art and other artisan cultures possible, including trade.  Trade then created a sense of ownership and possession, and with this people started to need to make marks to mark something as their own.  From this developed writing as more and more was necessary to record.  As stuff got recorded different agencies and institutions were created and soon cities grew and populations increased, and the sense of ownership created warfare, because people wanted to get something someone else had.  All of this created what we consider civilization, and civilized nations.
