Explain the over 70 minute difference in time of sunrise between New England and Southwest Florida.?

The sun sets only 9 minutes apart, but the sun rise time difference is very different in length.

A lot of it has to do with the latitudinal differences between the two areas. there is less surface area in Florida for the sun to hit. if you take a flash light to a globe you can see how this works.
