  1. Organisms are part of  an environment and are continually  adapting to the changes to live. These environmental changes and the adaptation play a major role in evolution  of organism.

  2. Key for you being able to answer this for yourself is to understand how evolution occurs. Many mistakenly believe that upon environmental change or stress an organism will automatically evolve to live with the stressor. This, however, is a mostly inaccurate way of explaining evolution. With any environmental change that introduces stress on a population of organisms, population is key here, certain individuals of that population must already have the characteristics allowing him to be more fit for the new environment. This improved fitness will hopefully allow the individual to be more sexually productive increasing the number of individuals within the population that have the characteristic. As the number of individuals with the correct characteristic increase the population is said to have adapted to the new environmental stress.

Now then the best way for you to be able to answer this question will be to provide an example while explaining the relationship, it will be much more concise, may I suggest extreme cold weather change. This should be fairly easy to invent a scenario from.
