  1. The worst type of earthquakes are the ones that happen at fault boundaries.  

    when an  earthquakes happens under buildings on clay and loose soil the buildings tend to sink or tilt with lesser damage than if it happened on a fault line.

    Solid bedrock would take a lot more force and greater fractures for an earthquake to affect buildings that sit on solid bedrock.
