I'm on Ultimate Fares and I'm trying to book a flight from Cairo to Tananarive.

Click the link here to see what I see:

Look at Flight 187. How comes it leaves Mauritius at 11:10 AM and arrives in Tananarive at 10:55 AM ?

That would make the flight almost 24 hours long and that can't be possible because an airplane can't hold so much fuel.

  1. Heh heh.

  2. You're flying back across time zones and landing where it is an earlier tim zone than when you left. If you left Mauritius at 11:10 and the flight was 1:45, you would be landing at 12:55 if you landed in the same time zone, however as you move west into a new time zone that changes and now you are landing a 10:55 Tananarive time (12:55 Mauritius time)

  3. Madagascar is two time zones (GMT+3 - DST not observed) behind Mauritius (GMT + 4 winter, GMT+5 Summer).

You are flying for a total of 1 hour 45 minutes - they are both islands off the African coast... It will not take 24 hours, but instead less than 2.

    Hope this makes sense.
