  1. when u learn on your own accord not only did u learn that which u sought to learn but u also learned how to fgiure things out on your own, however if someone just tells you what to do you reciever nothing out of it except for whatever they told you

  2. There will always be more to know; all information is imperfect, even if only perspectively relevant. Anyone who portends to have more to teach than learn is sorely naive. Learning occurs in the most unlikely places, but not if you miss it by claiming to "know". Experience is invaluable, in doing, but also, in seeing, thinking, listening, and feeling.

  3. true, when we began life, with the wisdom and knowledge of God  if someone else gives us this knowledge they where in the presence of Our Lord through their mistakes in life  is how they give their knowledge. if we get this knowledge in the begging of Our life this is a knowledge we get for Our self. One own one relation ship with Our Lord  the best knowledge ever given...has all the answers to all the questions and the things we "will face in our life's journey of "Knowledge. Have a beautiful day Gods grace is with us all...

  4. What you work for is more appreciated and better understood than that which is simply given to you.

  5. If you have knowledge..you will teach others by them watching you..not by you teaching them

Need to spend all our time learning....not worrying about someone elses knowledge.

We are all responsible for the knowledge we are willing to receive and learn

  6. I would consider knowledge learned as something you had a desire about, something you sought out to gain more information.  And knowledge that is given, I see more as information given to you without making effort. I also think that could be considered wisdom.

In this case, both types of knowledge has their own beneficial value.  It is great to thrive in more knowledge in your life, and as you gain more experiences and time, more wisdom is obtained.

    Thanks for reading!

  7. According to me it means a lesson that you have learned from doing is more effective and valuable than a lesson learned through a book or in a classroom. Learning by trial and error or practical experience would teach you the art or skill better and will help you remember better.

  8. It is better to be self reliant than dependently obedient. Perhaps the writer is thinking of verification done for self rather than depending for an others approval is more important. Vertification needs of you ability but slaved to an other as source for knowledge is slavery.

  9. When you study and are taught how to do something, that is knowledge given. When you learn by your own experience, it is then more ingrained. Example; I can teach you how to start a fire by rubbing two sticks together, however if you do it yourself, you will be better for it.

  10. If you "discover" how to disassemble a bicycle yourself, rather than have a bike mechanic explain it to you, you're more likely to gain more. Knowledge (that you discover, or get by yourself) Learned is more important than Knowledge that is (taught, lectured, spoken) given.

  11. The word Learn is like the word Earn.  When you learn something, you earn the knowledge.  When you earn something, it is more valuable to you than something that is given to you.  For example, if you worked hard your whole life for a million dollars vs winning it in the lottery, which money would be more important to you?

This also sounds like the teachings of gnosticism.

In Gnosticism, you have to experience something in order to truely know it.  If someone only tells you about it, you cannot truely know it.

  12. Knowledge is knowledge. The way it is acquired is not more important that the other.

  13. Still doesn't necessarily make it more important. The ultimate gain is if & how this knowledge is used. of course that would be subjective, Nuclear Energy, you can produce electricity or make N.Bomb. The use of knowledge is subjective.

IMO the true value of knowledge is if 'how many people benefit from it'. If you have knowledge but is only used for your own gain, it diminishes it's impact and purpose. The ultimate objective should be for all the humanity to benefit from knowledge and to use it productively and positively!

Knowledge given can be more important as you are

lighting new candles that will spread spread this light even further, illuminating the darkness, spreading the knowledge even further. Which should be primary objective in the first place.

However knowledge learned or given has no value if it's potential is not harnessed . . . .

  14. i would say more useful.

knowledge given is easier then starting from scratch. there is no good reason to reinvent the wheel every time. you don't need to fully understand how the TV works to enjoy it.

knowledge learned is more useful because you are more likely to understand it, how it relates to other ideas, its background and assumptions, and minor details how the knowledge works in special conditions.

  15. This is nonsense.

Firstly because one learns whether one wants to or not.

It would make a mockery of the education system where knnowledge is given and, as per above, it is learned. Whether a person understands the knowledge is a different question
