Explain why an oxidizing agent undergoes reduction.?

Why must every redox reaction involve an oxidizing and reducing agent? I need you answers TODAY!!!! as in this very moment! thank you for ur help!

  1. The oxidising agent pulls electrons away from the reducing agent. If there is no source of electrons, an oxidising agent cannot react.

    Same thing with a reducing agent. If there is nothing to pick up the electrons, a reducing agent cannot react.
