Explain why civil war broke out in England in 1642.?

I'm doing an essay on this topic and havn't got a clue about it :\

I have been searching the internet but they only tell me what happened during the Civil war, I need to know how it started, If anybody can help I needed for yesterday lol reply back ASAP x

  1. basiclly king charles 1 wanted to increase taxes to fund a war in europe.parliament objected strongly and the king tried to enforce his will upon them.this led to a lot of posturing,threats and counter threat,untill battle lines were drawn between the king and his supporters( cavaliers) and the parliamentarians (roundheads) led by the puritan cromwell.and the rest,as they say, is history!

Without doing it for you, what you are looking at is the culmination of tension arising from the growth of a political class of nobility in parliament and the king and his belief in the divine right to rule. The Reformation and introduction of the protestant church in England and Scotland had seen the rise of a belief in individual rights. There was also, as ever, an economic element - King Charles wanted to raise taxes and parliament wanted a say.
