  1. becasue when you cross two species of animals (ex. a mule is a donkey and a horse) they are not born with genetic abilites to reproduce.  pretty much when they do "do  it." the egg will not except the sperm.  they are born sterile which means their reproductive systems dont work resultig in the inablity to reproduce.


  2. I think it's something to do with the number of chromosomes mules have, their parents will different amounts of chromosomes so the chromosomes don't split properly.

  3. they are hybrids (for lack of a better word) and so they are evolutionaryily not advantageous so they can't
