  1. bexause germination envovles the water getting under the skin of a seed and removing the outer layer making it easier to grow. if you add light to the germination process, you will evaporate all the water tring to soak into the seed


  2. Uh, WRONG!

    Because the seed contains a storage of glucose, initially the plant uses the stored glucose to respire (via cell respiration [which doesn't require light]) once the stored glucose is used up, it begins to photosynthesize and form glucose in that way.
