Explanation for twitching muscles...?

a few times a day or so my left thumb twitches. for about 15 or more minutes at a time, and then stops. its really annoying, my eye does the same thing, at different times.

why does this happen?

I get the same thing in my eye and legs and arms. It is a normal thing. All it is is a muscle spasm. When it occurs try stretching the muscle out or tightening and releasing it. For the eye... I haven't figured out how to stop that one. I just squint a couple times and shut them tight till it stops
