I had a girl in May and me and my soldier husband ( I'm so proud!) named her Coco Emma Riley.

What do you think of her name?

I posted this a couple of weeks ago and had many bad comments about the name Coco, but I would like to explain what is means to me and my husband and then, I would like to know if it changes the way you see it.

My daughter is named Coco because me and my husband married at Coco Palm Dhuni Kolhu. This is one of the most beautiful island I have ever seen and it has gorgeous overwater, deluxe and beach villas.

So Coco remembers us of our magical wedding and honeymoon and our love for each other.

Here's the link to it : http://www.cocopalm.com/dhunikolhu/villas.html

Now please, what do you think?

  1. I don't like it because it makes me think of Coco Puffs.  And Coco Riley is a celebrity baby name.  Everyone probably thinks you copied off David Arquette and Courtney Cox.  I do.

  2. whilst thats a very nice idea, what happens if your love doesnt stay forever and you split up?

  3. i think it is cute and your daughter will cherish that you named her after such an important event in your lives.

When your child gets older like age 10 she will be like what did you name mme after and you'll say my wedding!!! and all her friends will think that is really cute!!!

who cares what othere people think

as long as you love it and it is special to you that's all that counts

  4. very unique. Very special. I love it. AND its better then the name apple :P

  5. I think it's beautiful!

  6. I don't see anything wrong with the name CoCo. reminds me of Coco Channel!

  7. i actually think it's Cute :]

  8. I don't know if I like the name itself... however, I do know a woman in her twenties named Coco, and she is a brilliant person to be around. Her name fits her just perfectly.

  9. Did you ask your husband before doing thus?

  10. I appreciate that the name has meaning for you, but it might have been better as a middle name.  It's not exactly the kind of name that a woman looking to make a name for herself in the business world would like to be saddled with.  Sorry, but you asked.

  11. i say go for it i like it !!

  12. I don't think Coco is a bad name; It would be nicer as a nickname instead. But the meaning behind it is really sweet.

  13. Why do you feel the need to justify your choice? If you love it and it means something special to you, who cares what others think. Don't ask for opinions if you really only want "oh I absolutely love it!!!" responses.

  14. i think its a nice name.

you never know, when she gets older she might just go by Emma, but thats her choice! :) Coco is a very unique and classy name.

but aside from that, you dont have to worry what other people think negative or whatnot because she's your daughter, and as long as you remind her of the true meaning of her name, im sure she'll love it too!!!

i think its nice when people have a reason or a meaning behind their name... i think its lovely.

    best wishes!

  15. I like it, the meaning behind it is sweet. Also, it's unique without being weird like "Apple" or "Moon Unit." Coco is a sweet and beautiful name.

  16. If it has meaning its fine.  I'm not a huge fan of Coco, but if it is something special then it is fine.

I like the name Emma though,

  17. Oh god.  That is terrible - who cares about the meaning behind it?  It's a nickname, a monkey's name, a clown's name, not a person's name.  Your daughter will go through life being ridiculed.  One of the first impressions we make is when we introduce ourselves.  Every time this little girl tells someone her name, she will have to explain it.

It's terrible, I tell you.  You should have thought more about your daughter's feelings and less about your own.  Giving children names like this is downright selfish.

  18. Who cares if that's where you were married?

I got married at Niagara Falls, where I grew up, so I guess I should name my baby Niagara Falls because that's the new fad or what?

Or my friend got married in a church.  She should name her kid God.

Seriously, that is the stupidest thing I have ever heard.  Obviously you didn't think of your poor baby.  Imagine all the ridicule she will get when she starts school.  "Coco do you taste like chocolate?"  Riley, omg that is a DOG'S name.  I know three dogs name Riley, and NO humans.

    Your poor, poor child.

  19. i Don't Like coco but i like the reason for the name

Btw i know a girl named Sydney after Sydney, Australia because her parent met there

  20. its a cute nickname. thugh the meaning is nice. i do love emma and riley though

  21. it's a sweet name, and the reason behind is if very special and meaningful. good for you!
