can any1 plz help explain the technology used in oyster cards on buses and on trains and how exactly it works

(and how it manages to take money off when u press it on the yellow screen when gooing on the train)

  1. it has what is called smart card technology.

    it has a built in chip which is recognised by the yellow card readers and the money on the card is taken off if any is taken off at all (depending on what oyster you have and where and how you use it)


  2. Like every thing - the PIN number to activate your plastic, the flash memory for your camera, PDA etc, it's ll done by microchip.
