Explorer'97 Troubleshooting P0401 but replaced EGR valve

I replace the EGR Cylinder a month ago, and now Code P0401 appears, Ford Explorer 97 XLT, no obstructions in the passage EGR sys, what so ever. Item valve purchase on Autozone new. This is the picture what I replace http://www.car-stuff.com/images/part_image/mp-egrvalve.jpg

  2. ok the dpfe sensor (egr position sensor) is around 30 bucks and the vacuum solenoid is around 20 dollars. change both and then take the egr valve back off and clean the ports in the intake where the egr bolts to it. it has filled full of carbon. use a pipe cleaner and some intake and throttle body cleaner to clean out and then reinstall the egr and install the new parts. walla you have little money in the car and your problem will be fixed. if you take it to a shop you'll pay around 450 bucks

  3. There are about 5 parts in the EGR train that will all give the same code. By the time you have Auto Zoned all of them you will have spent as much as if you had taken it to a dealer or reputable mechanic and had it fixed.

  4. Have you checked & tested the EGR solenoid ?Also checked for vaccum leaks?
