Plinian eruptions form from composite/stratovolcanoes, which form at subduction plates. all i know is this and shield volcanoes with "Hawaiian" eruptions form at ocean hotspots.

Most occur at a convergent boundary where an oceanic plate is being subducted under a continental plate.  So from your choices, the answer is subduction plate.  Although there is no such thing as a subduction plate.  It is appropriate and correct to refer to a subducted plate or a convergent plate boundary's subduction zone.
