please help!

if you could just show me how to do it and not give the answer, i could figure it out myself.

1) the population of knoxville is 500,000 and is increasing at the rate of 3.75% each year. approximately when will the population reach 1 million?

2)copy and complete the table for the function

y= 3e^x

x= 1, 2 ,3 ,4

y= ? ? ? ?

ratio(y1/ y1-1)= ? ? ?

(im not sure if you will be able to understand that but it is really in a table...so x.....y.....then ratio)

  1. 1,000,000 = 500,000(1.0375)^n, where n = number of years

    You can simplify to 2 = 1.0375^n

    Now take log of each side, getting:

    log 2 = nlog1.0375

    So you can solve for n now.

    (1, 8.15), (2, 22.12), (3, 60.26) , (4, 163.79)

    y1/(y1-1) = 8.15/7.15 = 1.14


  2. solve for t

    2 = (1.0375)^t

    t = log 2/log 1.0375

    for q2.  You need to use a calculator.
