Export Microsoft Outlook Contacts?

Hi, I am leaving my current job and moving to a new one, but I would like to keep the contacts I have on my outlook. How can I save the contacts on memory stick and load them on to my new computer? (And is it possible to do the same thing with my calendar items? I like to keep a history of that too). Thank you!

  1. Open Outlook.

Then go to File > Import and Export > Export to a file > Personal Folder File (.pst).

Select what you want to export (1st, in this case, your Contacts). Then, click Next. Under "Save exported file as," click Browse and choose a location on your computer (preferably the desktop) - but name the file to "contacts" (don't change the .pst part).

    Then click Finish.

Do this for your calendar items as well.

When you're ready to transfer them to your memory stick, put the memory stick in the computer, and open its folder. After that, just drag the two files you saved to the desktop to the memory stick folder.

When you're ready to import to your computer, go to FIle > Import and Export > Import from another program or file > Scroll to "Personal Folder File (.pst)." Then click Next, and select the location you have your backup file. Do this for the next backup file.

  2. yes you can.

Can't remember exactly but open Outlook > open address book and I think under File there is a command Export

  3. open outlook and go to file, import and export, choose export to a file, hit next then choose what you want to export from the list.

Now save the files exported to a disk. When you get new outlook program up and running just do the same process agin except choose import a file instead of export and when you import all the details saved will automatically be transfered to your new program.

  4. go to File > Import & Export

select the option to export as a file.  You can choose from various formats (excel, access, etc).  The .PST file format is the one that Outlook uses (you can import the PST format into your new computer if it has outlook on it).  From there, just follow the "wizard" and select the folders/calendars/contacts, etc you want to export.  Save it to your flash drive.
