yesterday this one idiot who sat next to me on the bus pointed his red laser pointer on his keychain directly in my eye for like 1-2 seconds .. i dunno what kind of laser it was but I didnt seem to experience any vision problems (i also wear glasses) what im worried about is that would the laser **** my eyes up in the long run .. also another question.. is it hazardous to look at pictures of laser beams on the internet.

  1. Most laser pointers have low enough power that the projected beam presents a minimal hazard to eyes for incidental exposure. Consequently, beams from laser pointers are generally not visible from the side in normal clear air, but only visible as a point of light where the beam strikes a diffusely reflective surface. Some higher powered laser pointers are faintly visible via Rayleigh scattering when viewed from the side in moderately to dimly lit conditions.

  2. if its a class 1 laser then it cant ruin your eyes and it probably is a class 1 because its just a cheap keychain a class 2 laser can hurt your eyes if you look directly into it for about 3-4 seconds and class 3 laser can ruin your eye sight if you look directly in it for 1-2 seconds and i class 4 laser can ruin your eye sight if you look into it directly for even a millesecond so your fine

  3. When a laser does damage, it is immediate.

If you don't have permanent black spots in your vision right after... then there was , and will be no damage.

No, seeing videos of a laser can't do anything to your eyes...it isn't real, it is just an image of it.

Imagine what seeing videos of an atomic bomb could do otherwise....lol
