Express Champ eyeing victory at Nottingham – Standard Trophy Preview
Express Champ is looking to add one more sterling success to his portfolio by finishing first in the William Hill Maiden Standard Trophy which will take place at Nottingham racecourse on Monday night, March 26.
The high-voltage Open Race over 500m Flat distance is scheduled to start at 20:52 (GMT).
For the purse of £150, Express Champ will compete against Takemetherelater, Romeo Alliance, Hather George, Laughill Ted and Farran Brae.
The C. Lund-trained black dog has been performing well and winning with regular intervals since the very beginning of his career.
Since making his debut in September 2011, the three-year-old dashing dog has accomplished three epic triumphs to date.
Following his maiden victory on November 19, the son of College Causeway out of Express Sapphire won two races in a row during February-March 2012. The maverick runner moved forward to achieve a runner-up rank in his last outing on March 18.
Thus, the dashing dog is carrying a lot of confidence and fighting spirit at the moment. If he manages to capitalise well on his capabilities, his chances to finish first in the race can be as high as 90 percent.
However, some of the top favourite hound’s rivals like Takemetherelater and Hather George are likely to perform confidently and give rather tough time to him.
Takemetherelater has been at the peak of his form since the dawn of 2012. A. Stevens’ black dog won two races in a row during the month of February. The son of Kinloch Brae out of Emporio Royale moved forward to bag a big victory on March 6 and earn a runner-up
rank on March 16.
On the other hand, Hather George achieved two runner-up positions consecutively in February 2012. The C. Lister-trained brindle dog finished first in a race on March 7 and grabbed second spot in his last outing.
