Express Trend goes fastest in Rose Bowl heats at Romford
E. McNair’s 3-year-old brindle b***h, Express Trend, has recorded the fastest time of 35.93 seconds over 575 metres in the opening round of Rose Bowl, held at Romford on Monday, July 16th.
Kiowa Sweet’s daughter was a part of the first heat, which was arguably the toughest of the three. Despite the presence of giants like Ministry Millie and Aero Joker, the dashing b***h felt no pressure, and did an excellent job all the way through.
She was quickly away and an excellent run on inside rail of the track helped her ascertain her supremacy soon after the beginning. She kept running at a furious speed, not letting anyone spoil her party.
Following a splendid ride, the 4-1 chance ensured the top rank by 1¾ lengths. The 9-4 favourite, Ministry Millie, could only seize the runner-up spot, despite the fact that she was in well command at one stage.
Heat 2 produced a massive upset. Droopys Franklin was declared the 5-4 favourite ahead of the event, but it was an unlucky day for him. While he finished fifth in the list, D. Mullins’ 2-year-old b***h, Pantone Ava, stole the show in a great style.
The brindle b***h was carrying the second lowest odds of 6-1. She showed it to bookies that how wrong they were to ignore her chances. She attained a handsome lead at the first bend, and retained her advantage till the wire.
After stepping out from the second trap, the daughter of Kinloch Brae took 35.97 seconds to wrap up the affair, beating Droopys Minnie by four and a half lengths.
The third and final heat was dominated by another brindle b***h, Fabulous Fleur, who was given the lowest starting price of 12-1. P. Young’s trainee shocked everyone by delivering an extraordinary performance, as she won the contest by half a length.
Despite getting bumped at the third bend, the Feb-09 daughter of Big Daddy Cool out of Fabulous Airport ran pretty well, stopping the clock in 36.25. Chavalin was runner-up, whereas the 5-4 favourite, Smiler Jack, could only seize fourth position.
The opening round of Rose Bowl was full of surprises. It would a nail-biting finale, but Express Trend seems to be on track for the glory. Draw for Friday's all-railer finale: 1 Ministry Millie, 2 Fabulous Fleur, 3 Express Trend, 4 Pantone Eva, 5 Droopys
Minnie, 6 Chavalin.
