Express Trend wins The Local Parking Security Prestige Final at Hall Green
Express Trend, a female racer whelped in May 2009, and trained by Liz McNair, won the final race of the Grade OR Local Parking Security Prestige event at Hall Green yesterday, January 10. The race was run over a distance of 645 meters.
The triumphant b***h competed against Fleeting Image, Millwards Swaby, Ballymac William, Ballymac Iniesta and Bowtime Joey to claim the prestigious title.
Breaking from trap 6, Express Trend, reached the finish line in 39.83 seconds, with a margin of 4 ¼ lengths. Demonstrating enormous pace from the very beginning, the b***h had to chase the most favourite runner, Fleeting Image, till the first bend.
Afterwards, she suddenly perked her momentum up, and cleared the second bend easily.
Then she ran on smoothly, and finished first, much to the surprise of all the spectators, and bettors alike. The daughter of Express Mist grabbed the first position for the third time in her short career that started on October 20, 2011.
Commenting on the b***h’s success, the husband of the trainer, Rab McNair, said, “She’s a dead railer so I didn’t like trap six, but it’s worked out for us. She’s run brilliant - we’re hoping to go to Crayford now [Ladbrokes Golden Jacket] and we’ll
just make sure she’s okay first.”
The second spot in the race was earned by Fleeting Image, the most favourite runner, who was short by 4 ¼ lengths. The black dog broke from trap 2, and bridged the distance in 40.17 seconds. Whelped in March 2009, the son of Head Bound is trained by
K J Findlay.
The third position went to Millwards Swaby, who finished in 40.53 seconds after breaking from trap 1. The black b***h lagged the in front of her by 4 ½ lengths. Whelped in April 2009, the daughter of Girl With Guitar is trained by P W Young.
The fourth hound to finish in the race was, Ballymac William, who reached the finish line in 40.71 seconds with a difference of 2 ¼ lengths. Trained by D Childs, the dog broke from trap number 4. The son of Magical Captain was the second least favourite
participant of the 645 meter event.
Ballymac Iniesta ended up fifth by completing the distance in 40.79 seconds, finishing a length behind. The black dog broke from trap 3. Whelped in July 2009, he is trained by G Hodson.
The last one to finish the race was Bowtime Joey. The black dog reached the finish line in 40.95 seconds with a difference of two lengths. He is trained by S Mason.
The 1st cash prize worth of £5000 went to Express Trend. Fleeting Image bagged second prize worth of £500. Each of the other racers got £200.
