My son is 3 weeks old and weighs 4.36kg which is about 9lb 7oz. I have bought a breast pump for when my partner takes my son out without me or for when I'm not feeling the best. Just wondering if anyone knows how many oz's or ml's i should be expressing for him

  1. when my son was born, my b*****s went from tiny to giant and I used to cry a bit in a hot shower while they exploded. I was given a $300 breast pump and would sit for an hour and just fill up a third of a bottle. So I had to do without the pump, entirely.Good Luck. Such a strange and wonderful journey is being a mother.

  2. My son is 11 pounds and takes a 3 oz bottle of expressed milk.

    I would say try 3 - 3.5 oz first.

  4. I would fill a 4 oz bottle for each feeding.  Be sure to freeze and thaw properly.  Also you can contact a lactation specialist for help.

  5. a lot
