ok i wrote this poem as a free verse but i dont know if it has a extended metaphor and a personification of water

can you tell me if it has both and where it is

Life’s Oceans

Ocean tides

Coming and going

Feeling the pain

While it’s growing

The ocean changes

So do I

Living and breathing

Then it’ll die

The ocean lives

And it dies

It feels everything

It even sighs

Not getting any younger

So much to hold on to

The tides are closing in

I think I know what you’re going through

  1. There is an extended metaphor and you have personified the water. The water has been given human characteristics throughout the whole poem (e.g. "Living and breathing" and "Not getting any younger"). For the extended metaphor, you have used the ocean to portray the life of a human, you have said the ocean "is" the human's life.

    Hope this helps.

BTW this is quite a good poem, but the last line is a bit random.
