hey, im travelin around europe from australia and when i caught a plane here (in a rush from poland where id just been) i quite stupidly packed my onward ticket out of ireland in my checked baggage instead of my carry-on. the customs guy was nice about it and let me through, but wrote "two weeks" on the stamp, and i was planning to stay a month or so cos my cousin lives here... where do i go to extend it? it cant be too hard to do can it? im in dublin...

  1. Depends on where you are going in Ireland.  Whatever town or city you just need to go to the Gardai station.  They are the ones who actually extend it depending on where you are going and who you are staying with.

  2. Can you ring the Australian embassy and check it out?  I'm not sure if there's one here, I think you might have to ring London though.

  3. If you take your passport and your onward ticket to the Garda National Immigration Bureau offices at Burgh Quay ,Dublin, they will sort it all out for you there.
