Extension .rar (help)?

i just downloaded a few new songs but my windows media player doesn't recognize the extension .rar what can i do? and what is extension .rar

.rar is a compressed archive file (something like .zip).  You need a 3rd party utility such as zipgenius (free).

download winrar

then once downloaded and installed, right click the files and select 'extract to' it basically means you are taking the files out of rar and onto your desktop

make sure you scan them first using your virus scanner. type what is winrar in google to understand it abit better. its like winzip but called winrar.

.rar is a file compression format just like .zip. You need an application to uncompress it first.

I would suggest a program called 7Zip. It can zip, rar, compress, tar, and gzip, as well as pretty much any other compression algorithm out there. Oh and it is free.

Oh if you just want a program for rar you can obtain winrar. Also free.

these are .rar files so you have to extract them first to extract them download the software winrar which can be download from the search engine on the site
