Question:

External Hard Drive Partition Recovery

IT gurus. Help!!!!

I've just bought an external hard drive and have been in the process of moving everything to it so I can have more space on my computer.

Unfortunately, when I thought I was renaming the External Hard Drive, I accidentally partitioned it and think I have lost all the data on there - my photos, documents, and most importantly my music (although I do still have this on the iPod). Is there anything that I can do to get it back? I'm working on a Mac Book Pro and the External Hard Drive is a Western Digital My Book Passport Essential 160GB USB Portable Hard Drive.

Also, can I get my music and photos off my iPod and back onto the computer?

Thanks, if there's anyone out there who knows anything and it's not going to cost me hundreds of ££££s!!!

  1. you can watch the video at http://cnettv.cnet.com/9742-1_53-5000243... that tells you how to recover files.

  2. You can try partitionmagic to get your partition back (unlikely)

You can also search the internet for a "file recovery" program.

DONT WORRY, YOUR FILES ARE STILL THERE!
