External hard drive issue (switching from mac to pc)?

i had an external hard drive that i used on my mac g5 for my itunes. i'm going to buy an new PC and i'm wondering if it will be able to read the files since i am switching from mac to pc?

  1. Matters what file system the hard drive is formatted with. If it's FAT or NTFS, windows will be able to read it,


  2. yes the format type used is usable by both OS the only catch with the two is NTFS which is what windows uses is only readable by Mac it can't write data to it
